As a fully modern city with deep historic roots, gay Berlin offers visitors plenty of enticing places to shop, ranging from classic, high-end department stores to trendy boutiques and gay lifestyle stores.
Department store KaDeWe is a city institution over eight floors, full of designer gear. It’s in the main shopping district close to Kurfürstendamm - locally known as Ku Damm - and most of the common brands such as Uniqlo, Forever 21, H&M and adidas, as well as high-end designer stores, are also based nearby.
Shopping in Schöneberg
Just southeast of here is the traditional gay area of Berlin, Schöneberg, where you can find plenty of LGBT stores selling clubbing wear, underwear, sportswear, as well as stores with gay DVDs, lube, poppers etc.
Schöneberg is also the zone for fetish and kink clothing. Sporting black leather and chains was vogue in Berlin before it was cool anywhere else! Global fetish brand Boxer are based here as are Mister B, which stocks leather, rubber, SM gear and sex toys.
Spend money in Mitte
If you’re more into fashion then fetish, then head east to Mitte and Hackescher Markt for designer, boutique stores, independent labels and brands such as Urban Outiftters, Superdry, Kiehl’s, New Balance and Levi’s.
There are also a few cool vintage stores in Mitte and plenty of great cafés and restaurants to stop and recharge in once you've maxed out your cards!
