Koukaki has been voted one of the favorite neighborhoods in Athens both by locals and by visitors, probably because it offers in a concentrated form a variety of what Athens represents. It has a lively night life and cultural sites and events that can fill many days in a row. It has a selection of good restaurants with local and international cuisine, bistros and taverns, pubs, cafes and bars. Beautiful pedestrian streets lead to other lively neighborhoods like Thissio, Monastiraki, Psyri and Metaxourgio. Longer walks up hill offer views of the Parthenon, of the sea and of the mountains surrounding Athens.
The Acropolis, Herodion Theater, Pnyx, Thissio and Ancient Agora are among the most important archaeological sites of the city within walking distance from the house.
Most facilities, such as bus stops, metro stations, open air cinemas, supermarket, traditional bakeries and local farmer's market (on Fridays) are very close to the house.
