Although not known as a fashion capital, gay Washington DC still has an incredible selection of shopping for the queer traveler. Favorite shopping districts are the upscale Georgetown, Downtown, the Hip U Street, and conveniently, the gay neighborhood of Dupont Circle.
Big-name brand shopping in DC
Dupont has a great mix of some of your favorite big name brands. Scattered around the gayborhood you’ll find Brooks Brothers, H&M, Gap, and Allen Edmonds. Not far away off of Downtown’s F Street, you can find more top-notch stores like Zara, J.Crew, and Macy’s.
Washington DC gay stores
Right in Dupont you can find the popular gay brand G-Star RAW, which sells a range of clothing from jeans and t-shirts to sexy underwear. Though not gay-specific, Kramerbooks & Afterwords Café and G Books have solid LGBTQ+ sections at their stores.
Trickbox, whose tagline is “A Freak Boutique” is DC’s gay store for leather, rubber, and other fetish items. The shop’s full of jocks, harnesses, and toys, and located in the Woodridge neighborhood, about 20 minutes from Dupont Circle.
