About the Place Initially in English, this text was translated via a machine translation service and may contain inaccuracies or errors.
As an experienced host I aim to make your comfort a priority so your visit is enjoyable. I keep my house clean, safe and comfortable so you can relax and unwind during your stay. As a guest, you can come and go as you'd please, though no outside guests are allowed. I am happy to hang and get acquainted when schedules allow. Otherwise we are relaxed, open-minded friendly roommates. I won't let anyone go hungry ; coffee, tea, fruit and baked goods are always offered in the mornings (more on request) and if I cook dinner it's likely offered to be shared. I am always happy to feed people when schedules align or have a drink and chat. You'll have a private room and the rest of the house is shared. The shared bathroom is roomy, and has a large walk in shower that offers plenty room to enjoy.
LOCATION: My house is only 6 subway stops from the Gayborhood and 3-6 stops from most of Center City destinations. It's located near Fishtown and is close walking distance to many area hotspots for drinking and eating, which I offer a printed list in the room. There's usually plenty of safe, free parking on my street, often it's easy to park across the street where you will see your car from your bedroom window.
ROOM: The guest room is the larger, front bedroom, furnished with a really comfortable bed. It's an easy work-from-home space with a desk etc (see amenities list for room contents) * please note, on weekdays during normal school months, mornings can sometimes include some activity out front - parents dropping off kids at the daycare center on my block. It's a city and not guaranteed perfect silence. There is a white noise machine, though.
CLOTHING OPTIONAL: I'm happy to offer a nudist, judgement-free vibe at my house if a guest indicates interest in that. Your comfort is priority, so that is NOT something that will happen unless there is interest expressed by you. So it's up to you to let me know what you want, or at least ask about it if curious. This has no impact on me accepting booking requests. FYI, I consider myself a "top" notch host, and a home nudist and I'm always happy to join you if there's interest expressed by you. Otherwise, it will be pretty chill and normal as any other clothed bnb as a default.
ME: I welcome questions openly about anything. Read my "profile" statement and feel free to look me through my art work, if looking for the term: "cheese portraits". If you read my profile; I'm ez to find.
* OPTIONAL: PLEASE, if possible, I like to avoid strong perfumes and cologne and avoid wearing shoes in the house due to my allergies.
** NOTE this Fall I will be teaching Tuesdays and Thursdays and check ins will need to be after 4pm (September 24th-Dec10th)

I've got a printed list available in the guest room of many great restaurants and bars that are walking distance from my house. I can share this with you ahead of your arrival if you book.
An easy 3 block walk to the el train ( elevated subway) station that gets you into the center city (and gayborhood) area in just 15 minutes. At the station, there's also a city bike share station so you have easy access to a bike too. I have lots of free street parking on nights and weekends on my street.
Some include :
Johnny Brenda's (featured in the recent rocky movie "Creed")
The Fillmore music venu
Frankfort Hall beer garden
Fette Sau (bigger, better version than the original Brooklyn one)
Barcade :bar with vintage arcade games
Pizzabedhia : one of the most popular pizza chefs in the country
Suraya: new (high end) w/incredible Lebonese Restaurant
Cheu Fishtown: local noodle bar with very good Asian bites, beer, cocktails
Cedar Points bar, Loco Pez (both across from each other and only 10 min away.
Martha bar: hip vibe bar that features all that's local and regional w/great outdoor space, 10 min walk from house.

Places to check out if you're looking to explore gems in Philly:
Old city has a lot of historic spots like Independence hall, the Liberty Bell and Elthred's Alley and the Betsy Ross House.
The Mutter Museum is not huge but full of the most quirky and fascinating historic collections of medical anomalies (best to eat lunch AFTER you visit, than before).
The State Penatentary is a unique must-see spot worth a couple hours of your time. I highly recommend it.
The Philadelphia Museum of Art has "pay way you want" night on Wednesday Evenings! It's the 3rd largest art collection in the USA and a great museum. The Rodin museum on the Parkway is always pay what you want (though they don't make that obvious!) and that is next to the Barns museum (you may need to get timed tickets ahead!) which is a unique collection worth checking if you like impressionist work especially. Ask me about many other spots regarding art.
