While Madrid is very bear - and beard - friendly, with many gay bars and clubs orientated toward hirsute hunks, there are plenty of drag shows, pop parties, and a strong fetish scene. The best gay bars in Madrid

Most of the Madrid gay bars are within walking distance of each other in Chueca, Madrid's gay district. HOT is the place for bears, LL Bar has great drag shows, Gris has an electro/indie edge and newcomer THICK (formerly Fu3l) has built up a big following in short space of time.

La Kama is also a popular gay Madrid bar, partly due to having some of the cutest barmen in town. On Sunday afternoons, escape Chueca and head over to the La Latina neighborhood, where Sixta, El Atril and La Perla gay bars pack in Madrid’s party people, keeping the weekend going as long as possible. 

Madrid’s coolest gay clubs

Kluster @ Chango is one of the biggest and most popular gay clubs in Madrid, especially with guys in their 30s and 40s. It’s a Saturday night, shirts-off, house music essential. Meanwhile, regular Chueca party Bearbie offers more in the way of disco and pop.

Madrid is host to many occasional or monthly gay clubs. The ultimate Circuit-style party in the city is We Party Madrid. Though there are We Party events all over the world, you cannot beat the original at Sala La Riviera nightclub. If that floats your boat, you won’t want to miss SuperMartxé either.

Madrid clubbing: extra tips

A couple of important things when it comes to Madrid gay clubs and bars: Madrileños live for the night: if you’re going to a gay club, don’t get there before 2am as it’s likely to be empty. Also, entrance usually includes one or two drinks, so keep hold of that entry ticket!
