Nice is the fifth most populated city in France. It is a beautiful area to visit, and is a very gay friendly community. Nice is home to many iconic gay establishments. In addition to the businesses, there are annual festivals and parades that celebrate the LGBT community including a gay Carnival (Lou Queernaval) and a great summer pride parade. One of the best places to visit while in Nice is the neighborhood of Vieille Ville. It is home to a large concentration of gay friendly and gay-owned businesses and near the Garibaldi square. Some of these include the LGBT cabaret bar La Cave Wilson. The RED Kafé is a very popular spot to hang out too. Nice's latest gay bar addition is called le Swing.
Getting the Most Out of Nice’s Gay Scene
Some other iconic businesses in gay Nice are le Glam, for a late night drink or one of Nice's numerous gay sex-clubs like Malabar Station, Six, Code, Eagle or Morgan. Gay Nice also has Point G, the clothing and accessories store, where you can find leather, latex, harness, condoms, lubricants, and other adult toy items. Before going to the club at night, you can get something to eat at one of the many fine restaurants in the area. Some great options include Les Garçons.
Gay Nice also has some events for the gay community. Each year they host the Pink Parade. This is the annual gay pride parade, which is at Promenade des Anglais along the seafront in July. There is also the Lou Queernaval, which is part of Nice’s 17-day carnival. One last LGBT specific event is the In & Out film festival for gay and lesbian movie watchers.
