The 9th edition of the Nice In&Out film festival has just opened its doors this week in Nice. Organized by the association Les Ouvreurs, this event dedicated to gay and lesbian cinema will offer a variety of screenings every day until May 3rd. Opening with the film "Kiki" by Sara Jordenö and Twiggy Pucci Garcon, the closing ceremony will take place with the film "Taekwondo" by Marco Berger and Martín.
The message that the festival wants to convey is clear: it is not because we have the same sex that we cannot love each other. The event allows us to fight against intolerance through culture. Cinema is a peaceful way to convey a message to the public while entertaining them. In the current context where the fight for LGBT equality is slowing down and where gains are being questioned, the festival has decided to question the notion of "dissent" as a form of resistance. Attend the screenings in the Nice cinemas MAMAC, Cinéma de Beaulieu, Librairie Vigna and the cinema Le Mercury.
You can find the complete program of the event on its official website lesouvreurs.com and follow them on the Facebook page of the association Les Ouvreurs.
