Mount Royal, Montreal's gay cruising spot

A long time ago, Mount Royal was known as a gay cruising spot where men met, drank, fucked and poked each other.

It is no longer the place to go to pick up women in Montreal.

According to Yves Lafontaine, editor-in-chief of Fugues magazine, "15 or 20 years ago, even 30 or 40 years ago, only gays went to Mount Royal at night," he says. Today, there are many other people who frequent the park."

There is still the famous faggot trail, which could simply be translated as the faggot trail.

According to Sylvie Guilbault of Les Amis de la montagne, "It's much more active during the day than at night."
