Hello -! I'm an American writer and researcher currently based in Berlin. I'm currently a grad student at the Freie Universität there studying the transnational intellectual and cultural history of Modern gay and lesbian movements, examining links to primitivism in anthropology and visual culture. I collaborate with artists and other writers a lot, and have published essays and criticism in The New York Times, The Los Angeles Review of Books, Slate, Jacobin, VAN Magazine, and Tin House. I'm a member of the board of the Schwules Museum Berlin, the world's largest institution dedicated to the history of LGBT peoples and cultures.
