The Neighbourhood
Buxton is known as the” Cultural Capital” of the Peak District, with the magnificent Opera House being the venue for a wide variety of music, dance and theatre events during the year. Most notably, the Opera House plays host to the prestigious Buxton Festival and Fringe, and the ******** Time festival of live music.
As a spa town, Buxton has been a popular holiday resort for centuries and the newly opened Spa complex in the University of Derby Dome (formerly the Devonshire Hospital) has done much to re-instate this part of the town’s heritage.
The town is also blessed with magnificent architecture, a wealth of shops, and a thriving Arts scene.
Based at the heart of the Peak District and situated just over a thousand feet up in the Derbyshire hills, Buxton is the ideal base for climbing, caving, mountain biking, walking, bird watching, horse riding, gliding and much more.
NOTE: Although my minimum booking period is currently 2 nights because of the covid-19 cleaning regime, please feel free to send me a message if you just need one night
