Our Portrait Room features a Queen size bed, end tables, a large dressing mirror, a unique shaving stand and a private, elegant bathroom with a large, beautiful shower and antique vanity. Some believe that when your portrait is taken a piece of your soul lingers in the captured memory. Are these historic (and some not so historic) photos simply moments in time enshrined by a photographer’s lens, or are they something more?

Phantom History House may seem removed from the hustle and bustle because it’s tucked away in such a quiet neighborhood, but this centralized location is less than 30 minutes from Ybor City, Tampa’s historic district with several clubs catering to the LGBTQ+ community, including Bradley’s on 7th, Southern Nights and the more chilled Ybor Wine Bar.
The Pro Shop Pub in Clearwater is Tampa Bay’s oldest and longest-running nightclub and is 13 miles away and just minutes from the beautiful beaches of Florida’s west coast. Also nearby are Hamburger Mary’s and Quench Lounge, two popular clubs in Clearwater that feature theme nights and popular drag shows.
If you’re visiting in March or June, be sure to plan a visit to the area’s two largest Pride events, Tampa Pride and St. Pete Pride. Both organizations are growing and celebrate the LGBTQ+ community of the region and the state!
If you’re interested in more mainstream activities that are friendly toward LGBTQs, then check out the Oxford Exchange in downtown Tampa with a trendy restaurant, bookshop, coffee-house, and shop, or Armature Works along Tampa’s waterfront, where young professionals hang out, play and enjoy a variety of food offerings near downtown. We also encourage you to check out the Tampa Museum of Art, which often has LGBTQ-inclusive exhibits and hosts the annual Pride & Passion event each spring.

We are non-smoking facility and pets are not allowed. All guest rooms are on the second floor and guests must be able to climb a flight of stairs. Quiet hours between 10 pm and 7 am (unless you book out the entire house for your group. Then all bets are off!!)
