This is a city so I always advise guests to just be streetwise and all will be okay. During season there are always 'chancers' who come to town, so just be alert.
Museums and art galleries are also on my doorstep and gay bars within a few minutes by taxi or about 15 minute walk in the day (would not recommend walking after dark).
Main beaches are a 10-15 minute taxi ride away (depending on seasonal traffic).
There is no parking in my building. I make regular use of Uber or I walk. There is, however, metered street parking in the area and I can also direct you to undercover paid parking arcades nearby.
The MyCityBus public transport is also easily accessible.
