My Husband Jay & I (Rick) live in the mountains about 45 minutes east of San Diego where we raise/breed Alpacas. Our place is beautifully landscaped and we have begun to share the ranch experience with others. We have extensive gardens and orchards as well and do a bunch of canning in the summer, including making jams from our fruit that we sell at occasional open ranch events where we open the ranch to the public to learn about alpacas. Besides working on the ranch, we like to go to Blacks Beach or hiking in the mountains around our ranch. The desert is also fun during the winter and shoulder seasons. We also love to travel internationally and have visited many cool places around the world. Jay works for American Airlines so that helps.
Rick volunteers weekly at the Julian American Legion making desserts for and helping prep veteran meals for their vet meal program. Jay volunteers at nearby Lions, Tigers and Bears rescue facility as well as the Horse of the Sun Armed Services YMCA factility in Pine Valley.
We have always enjoyed hosting friends and family at our place and are happy to share it with others.
