Thessaloniki is the second largest city in Greece and is located in the north of the country, close to the Balkans. Overlooked by tourists flocking to Mykonos or Athens, Thessaloniki is an emerging gay destination with a growing gay scene.
You’ll find bars and clubs like Enola, the main gay club or Don’t Tell Mama, a more alternative option, the Big Bar for the bear community and TS14 a unique trans bar; You’ll also have plenty of options to enjoy the sexiness of Greek males with the Splash sauna or the Play Club. There’s even an adult movie theater very popular in the local Thessaloniki gay scene.
Thessaloniki hosts LGBT events like the Thessaloniki International LGBTΙQ Film Festival since 1999 and the Thessaloniki Pride, every year in June since 2011.
Thessaloniki will definitely be on the gay map in 2020 as the city hosts EuroPride 2020, June 20-28, with the slogan “Welcome to the future where everyone can join!”. It’s the first time EuroPride is hosted in South East Europe. The program will include art exhibitions, outdoor parties, concerts, open air film screenings, a human rights conference and the big EuroPride Parade on Saturday, 27th of June 2020.
