Maguelone beach is one of the most preserved beaches of the Languedoc-Roussilon coastline, a stretch of sand and pebbles (depending on the area) sandwiched between the Mediterranean Sea and the Pierre Blanche pond. In the center of this beach, a favorite of naturalists since the 1960s, is the cathedral of Maguelone. The beach located between Palavas les Flots and Frontignan is also one of Montpellier's favorite beaches even if it is less frequented than the beach of l'Espiguette further east in Grau du Roi.
To get there from Palavas les Flots take the road to Maguelone. You will find a parking lot behind the bridge and the campsite. A walk to the cathedral and the kite surfers the beach is about 800m from the parking and is often marked with a gay flag. From Villeneuve les Maguelone you have to park at the paid parking Pilou and then walk or take a little train that will drop you off at the textile beach. Continue to the left towards the gay section. If you continue towards the west you will come across the beach of Aresquiers. GPS : 43.5024, 3.8783
