While Australia may be more famous for its warm weather and golden beaches, the land down under also experiences its fair share of snow - this may come as a surprise to some we know. To celebrate the snow season, Gay Ski Week Australia will return for its 10th edition this September, promising the biggest gay alpine party of the year.
Organized by Points of Difference, Gay Ski Week Australia will run from September 5 to 12, and will offer plenty of frosty, fun, and fabulous events. This year, the event will be hosted at popular ski resorts: Hotham and Falls Creek. Both resorts boast spectacular alpine views, along with spas and saunas to keep you more than hot.
Ski lessons will take place each morning, and will be followed by Do Your Own Thing (DYOT) sessions in the afternoon for those who want to let loose on the slopes. Along with all of this, Gay Ski Week Australia has a jam-packed schedule of other activities and parties if you fancy a break from the skis for a day or two.
Day one will include an epic opening party which will be hosted at QT hotel, and will offer welcome drinks, DJs, and of course lots of dancing. The following night, get your culture hat on for Queer Shorts Film Fest, an exclusive screening of hand-picked queer films that are certain to entertain.
A ski trip wouldn’t be complete without a night of fondue, and Sunday night will see the Snowshoe to Fondue evening. Back by popular demand after its first successful run last year, the evening will start with a trek through snow gums and finish up at a hidden eco-village. Here, everyone will be treated to a three-course dinner of fondue accompanied by plenty of wine.
On top of all of this, Gay Ski Week will offer several day and evening parties, trivia, and of course a whole lot of new people to meet along the way. So what are you waiting for? Hit the slopes, and experience your pride at Australia’s best gay ski party for 2018. Find out more here.
