This will be one of the most masculine gay events of next spring in Europe : from May 21 to 25, more than 700 gay rugby players from all over Europe will gather in Brussels for the Union Cup, the biggest gay rugby event in Europe.
Not less than 25 teams will be hosted by the Straffe Ketten RFC (see picture below), the only gay rugby team in Belgium. For 4 days, they will fight for victory and honor in a friendly and sportive atmosphere that will also aim at tackling homophobia and prejudices in sports.
This four-day tournament will also be the occasion of social and festive events that will take place in Brussels Gay Village and in different venues of the European Capital.
The Union Cup is a biennial event, gathering non- professional gay rugby players from accross Europe. The first edition was held in May 2005 in Montpellier, France. It will be held for the first time in Belgium.
