No beach in San José, but...
Unfortunately, San José is located in the center of Costa Rica. Here, no beach! You will have to drive a few hours to discover the warm beaches of the country. Quepos and Manuel Antonio, located next to each other, are the two cities with the most gay-friendly beaches. Both cities are easily accessible from San José.
