This historic home is nestled in the foothills of one of the older suburbs in Cape Town, and while it is a historic home, the interior has been beautifully furnished and renovated to make sure you have all the modern touches you would hope for ideal for a couple getaway. The home is light and airy with off-street parking, and a courtyard in the back to enjoy the outdoors in peace with a book. There is a Mezzanine bedroom which is not child proof, so please be mindful of this
"The Wellington Skeete (est. 1980) has come to represent the best of blended families and nations. From far and opposite corners of the world, a love endured and blossomed between the maiden Skeete and the huntsman W Ellington. To honour that love, please enjoy the hospice on offer - may a lovely stay be bestowed upon you" This beautifully renovated historic home has been carefully decorated and thought out. There are two bedrooms with en-suites each, a spacious living room with bar area, outdoor spaces to enjoy, as well as dedicated work space.
The Mezzanine level does have sliding doors which open out to the living room, so please be mindful that it is not childproof at all. There are aircons available throughout the house- the fireplaces are however NOT available to be used. There are many quirks throughout the home, and lots of local artwork to enjoy- making this the perfect couples retreat for friends to get away for a weekend
Guests will have full access to the home as well as being able to use the front courtyard to park off-street
The Cape's rough seas in the winter months led to a formal winter anchorage in 1743 where ships would dock at Simons' Baai (present day Simon's Town). A wagon route linking Cape Town to Simon's Town went over the hill adjacent to De Oude Wjinbergh (or old wine mountain) estate where Wynberg became used as a half ******** om Cape Town to Simons Town.
Wynberg is bordered by Kenilworth to the north and Plumstead to the south east, Constantia is situated to its west. The suburb can also be accessed from the M3 freeway which skirts the west of the Neighborhood close to the Wynberg Military Base and popular wine farms not far from this.
Uber is reliable and convenient
There is off-street parking if you choose to rent a car or if you will be using your own car
This is a self catering unit, but we do provide the basics (tea, coffee, milk, sugar). We have hotel quality linens (300 Thread Count). Stays of 8 nights or longer will receive a complimentary change over.
