His books in that field include Masculine Landscapes:Walt Whitman and the Homoerotic Text, A Road To Stonewall, a study of English and American Gay literature. In 2001 Columbia University Press published his ground-breaking Columbia Anthology of Gay Literature, followed a year later by Homophobia: A History (Holt/Picador). Our story
We have been coming to France since we met, and in 1989 we bought our first house in the Perigord, using it for vacations and as a base from which to source antiques for Alain’s gallery. In 1999 we moved from that house to La Millasserie, continuing to vacation there as well as source antiques. When Alain decided to retire after 25 years as an antiques dealer and I after 30 at the University we decided to move to France permanently. In the US, addition to the antiques gallery, we also had a Bed and Breakfast. That seemed to be a solution to the question of what to do in a new country. In ******** we built the Bed & Breakfast addition to the 18th century house and in 2008 moved to La Millasserie, opening the B&B that summer. Since then we have been fortunate to have become a popular destination for gay guests from The US, the UK, Europe, and beyond. We welcome you to La Millasserie.
