Children of any age are allowed. Children up to and including 2 years old stay for free when using an available cot. You haven't added any cots. You haven't added any extra beds.

Please inform Durness Youth Hostel in advance of your expected arrival time. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly with the contact details provided in your confirmation. Guests are required to show a photo identification and credit card upon check-in. Please note that all Special Requests are subject to availability and additional charges may apply. Full payment for all bookings will be charged at the time of booking. All major credit & debit cards are accepted excluding American Express. All bookings will include a temporary membership fee per person per night. (Full, existing members of Hostelling Scotland and HI using these channels are not entitled to a membership refund). Individual reservations (Up to 9 persons) - can cancel free of charge until 3 days before the arrival date. If cancelled within the 3 days before the arrival 100 percent of the total price will be charged. Groups reservations (more than 9 persons) - different policies and additional supplements will apply. More than 8 weeks (57 days or more) 20% of total cost. 8 – 4 weeks (56- 29 days) 55% of total cost. 4 – 0 weeks (28 - 0 day) 100% of total cost. No stag or hen parties are permitted at any youth hostel. Should guests be entitled to a refund or part refund please note that these are processed by Hostelling Scotland National Office, Stirling. It may take 7 to 10 working days from the date of cancellation request for the refund to be processed back onto the original card used. Please note that due to demand at this location shared accommodation can be unisex therefore children under the age of 16 can only be accommodated in a private room accompanied by an adult. Hostelling Scotland advise that additional notice be given to the destination youth hostel when travelling with children, to ensure that suitable accommodation is available. There is no capacity for extra beds or cots. The hostel is normally closed during the day between 10.00 and 17.00. Later arrival and access outside opening hours is by pre-arrangement only. Dogs are welcome at DurnessYouth Hostel, for a small fee, when guests book a private room. Please note that dogs must be booked in advance to ensure that a dog friendly room is available.
