Another great attraction of the area is the subway complex Cueva del Viento-Sobrado, with more than 17 kilometers of topography, the largest volcanic tunnel or tube in Europe and the third largest in the world. It was originated by lava flows from the Pico Viejo volcano, located next to Teide.
Near Icod is the San Marcos Beach, a few minutes away; a black volcanic sand beach located a short distance from the town of Icod de los Vinos, in a bay sheltered from the winds.
