Property Rules Initially in English, this text was translated via a machine translation service and may contain inaccuracies or errors.
KEYS: On the wall in each bedroom you will find keys for the room and the building main entrance. Please hang them back on the hook in the same room when you check out. There is a charge of USD $25 for lost keys.
WINDOWS: Please close the balcony doors every time you leave the house. Mexico City gets sudden, strong rainstorms almost any time of the year.
GUESTS: The general rule of the building is no extra people in the house in addition to those on the booking. You can bend this rule for a dinner or small low-key gathering, but no loud parties allowed. If you want to bring a group, confirm it with me first because I have to inform the administration. Thanks for understanding—you’re passing through, but I need to be a long-term good neighbor.
KITCHEN: The faucet has a sensor. Touch the metallic part to turn the water on/off. Don’t use the lever.
The kitchen sink hot water can be weird—I’m working on this. Sometimes you have to shut off the water, wait a second, and turn it on again.
The small faucet is filtered water for drinking. Crazy strong pressure. Operate it sloooowly or you’ll get wet!
KITCHEN COUNTERS are sensitive. Please always use a cutting board. Don’t put any cut citrus such as limes on the counter. Wipe spills quickly. Do not put hot pans/dishes directly on the stone.
Enjoy cooking, but take care of my belongings. No metal implements in nonstick pans. No wooden things, good knives, or pans in the dishwasher. When in doubt, hand wash.
If you use the last of the cooking staples such as olive oil, it's nice if you replace it with a similar product, or at least send me a message for my shopping list.
LINENS: There are extra towels and miscellaneous bedding in the hall closets and in the front bedroom closet.
LIGHTING: The common areas have smart lighting. Download the Philips Hue app and connect to the bridge inside the wifi box in the hallway. Push to open the box latch, then open your Hue app and touch the big white button. Go around and turn on the light switches, then you can control all the smart lights from your phone.
The lights should work with the standard switches if you don’t activate Hue. However, the Hue system works best and is more fun. Personally I leave all the switches “on” and turn the lights on/off with Hue. If you get confused, message me.
SOUND: The Sonos app gives the most features, such as grouping the speakers. You should also be able to connect directly to one speaker from a music app such as Spotify.
TRASH: If you need to take out trash, go down to the 1st floor (not PB), down the hall, and down the stairs to the garage. Bins are located under the staircase. You can put everything in the black barrel.
CLEANING: My wonderful house cleaner, Tere, will let herself in the house every Tuesday around 9am and work for a few hours. Please be aware if this coincides with your stay.
FINALLY, please be polite and don’t drink my alcohol. I’ll be glad to recommend amazing mezcal bars, cocktail speakeasies, wine bars and craft breweries in the neighborhood!
