Jesse Jay's Latin Kitchen is great for brunch. City Sliders has good vegetarian and vegan options.
Bay Wine & Spirits is a local hangout with a Cheers-type vibe. The Wheelhouse is more of a beer garden and bar – but often has live music (check online).
In terms of walks/bike-rides, don’t miss the Chesapeake Beach Railway Trail (last item in the guidebook) - it's a very long raised boardwalk over the wetlands behind the water park in Chesapeake Beach. There is also trail that leads to wetlands a few minutes from our place - behind the apartment buildings - this is our daily evening walk. It’s perfect for a walk with your dog and goes through a park where you can watch the sunset.
