The bearded Therese welcomes you*. We are Austria’s first queer getaway at 1000m above sea level on the beautiful Koralm in the mountain village of Trahütten.

Our winter season 2024 will start in February and we invite you to visit us until the end of March. In April we are closed to prepare for the summer season. Then we will be there for you from the beginning of May until the end of August.

What does „you*“ actually mean? Who is welcome in the Absteige and when? Oh dear, here we go, because Therese is completely in love with asterisks*, underscores_, colons:. She is addicted to the whole queer spectrum and yodels soulfully from the mountain.
Therese welcomes the entire diversity of the queer community and its allies. An ally is a non-queer person who wholeheartedly supports the queer community. On certain weekends, there are special events just for men or just for women, or, or… Read the program for the weekends carefully and if you have any questions, please contact Therese, she will be happy to answer them.

We may be on the mountain pasture, but we still have a lot of comforts. In addition to the stream water and the springs in the area, there are also water pipes that even reach the guest rooms. If we heat up well with the wood stove then you will all have hot water. The heat in the house comes directly from the village from our local wood-fired power station. So you don’t have to freeze here on the mountain, unless that’s exactly what you want, then you can enjoy the fresh mountain air with the window open. And yes, we also have individual guest rooms where you can relax in comfort.

There are 10 guest rooms in the Absteige zur bärtigen Therese. 8 double rooms and 2 single rooms. Itshe + Io and their design agency SelfSightSeeing Company have lovingly renovated and furnished everything themselves in a retro design. The two have also hung their art everywhere, potted houseplants and distributed book corners. As Itshe + Io also live at Therese, everything is very homely.

Therese likes to eat well. She has hired a particularly good chef for this: Io Tondolo. Io learned to cook at his grandmother’s stove in the inn. After several culinary stops, he was seduced by art, but it’s easy to combine the two. Io cooks regional and seasonal dishes and his husband, Itshe, tries his hand in the garden, growing fresh herbs and collecting wild herbs on the mountain pasture.
