This house was first built in 1932 and since then it has been known as "Casa do Vinho Velho", "The Old Wine House". My great-grand mother used to tell stories about the old man "Vinho Velho" and his passion for his wine and agriculture. The house has been updated but we have kept old features, like an old brick oven in the kitchen and 3 stone rocks for vine hanging in the living room!

Our neighborhood is calm, mostly sunny and diverse. It has recently become home to outsiders that have fallen in love with the island! The near by beach that I recommend is in Lugar de Baixo, traditional Madeira rock beach with some spots of black sand. There is Levada walks up the street with gorgeous views that will lead you West or East.

I recommend renting a car or a scooter to move around.
