Our 17 acre farm near Spences Bridge BC has two small houses, a private beach on the Nicola River, an organic orchard and lots of space.
All payments from MisterBandB are donated to Rainbow Refugee Society, a Vancouver-based charity that brings LBGT+ refugees to Canada. We decided to keep the price low to make it accessible, but you are welcome to make a larger donation directly to Rainbow Refugee Society.

The guest house has two bedrooms, one bathroom, living room, kitchen and veranda. One bedroom has a queen-sized bed. The other bedroom has a king-sized bed that can be split into two singles. This house is air conditioned, with a washer, dryer and clothesline.

GUEST SEASON is Easter to Canadian Thanksgiving. One or both of us will be on the farm when we have guests. Many friends visit the farm, particularly on summer weekends. Most, but not all, are gay men. We may ask you to share the guest house during summer weekends (but only if everyone is comfortable sharing the space.)
Some weekends are clothing optional, depending on the crowd.
Even if a time is marked as unavailable, ask us. Our schedules can be flexible, and we might be able to make it work.
Whatever the weather is in Vancouver, it's warmer and sunnier at the farm.

CAR NEEDED: The nearest village is Spences Bridge, 15 km away. Merritt is 50 km away on Hwy 8 with stores and services. We have an EV charger. It's a 3-1/2 hour drive from Vancouver.
- - - - - - -
ACTIVITIES: The Nicola River runs through our farm. We have a private sandy beach on the river. We can swim July, August and early September. We have an outdoor hot tub, stargazing platform, meditation hut, hammocks and an orchard to relax in.
Our gym has an elliptical, treadmill, step machine, climber and rowing machine for cardio. There is a functional trainer and a weight bench with limited weights (10-50 pounds).
Our perimeter road is 0.8 km for running.
We also have endless farm tasks that you can help with (only if you really want to).
- - - - - - -
MEALS: We provide the ingredients for a basic breakfast that you prepare. Please provide your own lunches. Dinners are communal, so please bring ingredients, and prepare a dish to share (appetizer, main, salad, side or dessert). The kitchen is reasonably well stocked and you are welcome to use whatever you find there.
- - - - - - -
WILDLIFE: Black bears occasionally visit from April to October, and are on the farm almost every day from mid-August to late September. Deer, coyotes and eagles are regular visitors. When the temperature is above 18 degrees, it's unlikely, but possible, that you will encounter a rattlesnake, so we strongly advise guests to wear cowboy boots or rubber boots. We have a wide selection of guest boots.
- - - - - - -
DOGS: We are hesitant to allow dogs because of the small prickly pear cactus plants and rattlesnakes on the property.

We love our farm, as most people do who stay here. We decided to occasionally share it with a wider group of polite, friendly, gay men. If that describes you, please visit!

Our 17 acre farm is between Merritt and Spences Bridge BC in the Nicola River Valley. The region is semi-arid with sagebrush, ponderosa pine trees, mountains, a river, sun most of the time, and lots of open space. We have 160 organic fruit trees. The eastern boundary is the Nicola River. Our nearest neighbour is 2 km away.
The Nicola River runs through the farm, with several great swimming holes. In July and August we ride inner tubes down the river. The nearby town of Spences Bridge has one restaurant, and a tiny store. There are 2 fruit stands between our farm and Spences Bridge. The tomatoes are amazing--August and September.
Search for "gold country BC" for area suggestions. Lots in the region.
The Inn at Spences Bridge is a renovated heritage lodge right above the Thompson River, a few km from our farm. The owners are friendly and kind, and the rooms are delightful. If our place is full, consider staying there.
