Are you looking to getaway and enjoy the simple life of a Baja locale?
Casa de Perros is off an unpaved road atop Gringo Hill, overlooking the Sea of Cortez. The honeycomb shaped Saltillo floor and white stucco walls create the perfect stage for the view of the clear blue water of the sea.
Your room has an en-suite bathroom with a large walk-in shower. The bed is perfectly situated for you to enjoy the sunrise over the sea and the palms swaying in the morning breeze. The closet has plenty of room for your clothes and other belongings. There is a desk and WIFI, making it easy for you to work remotely.
You are renting a room but I am happy to share the kitchen. Feel free to make your morning coffee or breakfast. There is no microwave but there is a kettle and coffee press.
If you are a dog lover you are going to love Murphy, Diego, and Tita. They are very friendly and well behaved. They do like to wake me up at 6:00am to get fed and walked. I try to keep them quiet, but they are very enthusiastic about their walk. If you're not into dogs, this may not be the place for you.
The Beach is a 5-minute walk down the trail from behind the house. Steps made from old tires will lead you down to the highway and the beach is on the other side. It is a bit of a hike back up, but I manage to do it with a cooler and beach chair. Surfers also carry their boards up without a problem. For an easier route you can take the main road from the house. It's a nice 20 min. walk, and you will most likely come across a few horses, cows, and neighbors walking their dogs. If you're feeling lazy, there is parking at the beach.
For guests staying a week or longer there is housekeeping on Wednesday. Your room, bathroom, towels and bedding will be cleaned. This does not include your laundry but there is a washer and dryer for your convenience.
You will be centrally located but I recommend you rent a car. This will enable you to get to all to of the sights and places of interest. Driving is very safe here. There is Uber, but you need to use a taxi or a shuttle from the airport. You may have read Uber is not allowed in Los Cabos however there are Uber drivers and everyone uses them.
Casa de Perros is approximately 20 minutes from the San Jose del Cabo International airport and 10 minutes from downtown San Jose.

Palmilla, Santa Maria, and Chileno are 3 nearby beaches that are great for swimming, snorkeling, and paddle-boarding.
Flora Farms and Acre are great for dinner. They are a bit pricey but worth it. They are close to each other and I recommend you go to one for cocktails and appetizers and the other for dinner. Their grounds are beautiful so leave time to walk around and explore. Make reservations.
La Lupita is my favorite taco place. They also have great live music. Advanced reservations a must.
Rickets is a great little local bar that overlooks the town square. It's perfect for sitting on the balcony and watching the sunset.
Thursday night is Art Walk. This is our big night out. The streets are filled with artists and musicians.
The Sunday morning Organic Farmers Market is great for fresh produce, baked goods, local cuisine, and live music.
Nov - Dec is whale watching season. You don't need to do a boat excursion to enjoy them. You can see them right from the beach or the window of your bedroom.
