The Yellow Door on Shadow Mountain is a vibrant private and expansive, mid-century modern gem built in 1962. The home was renovated in 2020 with modern fixtures and finishes. Located in South Palm Desert, this home was designed for entertaining, a family vacation, or a work from home destination.
Enter through the walled and gated courtyard to find an open floor plan with four bedrooms and three newly updated full bathrooms. The master bedroom is a retreat space that offers a luxurious king bed and its own ensuite bathroom. It contains a large tub and separate shower with double sinks. The room also offers a large private sunken sitting area with a walk-in closet. Bedroom two and three both offer king beds while the fourth bedroom has two full beds. You will find a separate large coat room, game center and art space off the main living room.
Each bedroom is equipped with a smart TV and high-definition cable. The Yellow Door on Shadow Mountain offers central heating and air conditioning throughout and ceiling fans in each bedroom as well as the dining area. The large gourmet kitchen boasts an induction stove top, two ovens, ice machine, and large refrigerator and freezer. There are two separate prep areas with their own sinks and island seating for the perfect for gathering space.
There is 3,916 square feet of space for you to spread your wings. Skylights throughout the space create a bright open feeling. The vaulted living room is a perfect place to gather in front of the classically mid-century fireplace. The estate has many outdoor seating areas for relaxing and soaking up the desert sun. No worries as your car will be shaded while parked in the two car garage.
The Yellow Door on Shadow Mountain is truly an entertainer’s delight with a private four hole putting green, ½ basketball court, wine cave, pool, separate in ground spa, ping pong table and game room nearly the size of a bedroom. There is something for everyone to enjoy. Breathtaking glorious views of the Santa Rosa, San Jacinto and San Gorgonio Mountains in all directions set the scene for spectacular sunrises and pink magic hour sunsets.

You can experience the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, Stagecoach Country Music Festival, National Date Festival, Palm Springs Modernism week, Desert Golf Classic, and the Indian Wells Masters Tennis Tournament. There are canyons and trails close by for novice to expert level hiking. You can meander through oasis groves of desert palms, streams and desert waterfalls at Tahquitz Canyon Trail and or Indian Canyon Trails. The home is within walking distance to magnificent shopping and restaurants on the famous El Paseo.
