Descrizione dell'alloggio Questo testo, inizialmente in inglese, è stato tradotto tramite un servizio di traduzione automatica e può contenere imprecisioni o errori.
New for 2021. We have just finished renovation of a heritage listed cottage (profesional photos to follow). The Coral Cottage sits atop Doonagore, a spectacular high point that has views to the Atlantic Ocean, the Aran Islands, the Burren and the music village of Doolin. It is situated on a quiet country road with nothing but gorse and fresh air. The cottage has been fully restored with all modern conveniences, but retaining its traditional charm. The Coral Cottage has lovely views down to Liscannor Bay. Getting married? Ask us about our beautiful Cliffs of Moher Wedding venue.
The cottage has one double-bedroom, bathroom and galley kitchen. Lounge with woodburning stove and a sitting room with views down to Liscannor Bay. The cottage has been fully renovated (and insulated) and has charm along witrh modern conveniences.
The cottage has off-road driveway parking
The cottage is in a small terrace of four. The cottages were built for the stonecutters who lived in Doonagore. They were built during the days that the stone quarry was working (around 1850) and Doonagore was a busy village. There is very little left of the quarry workings now and the area is mostly dedicated to arable farming (There is an excellent exhibition in the Rock Shop in Liscanor that shows the history of the Doonagore quarry).
This is a great area for walking and bicycling. There is public transport from the villages; but most people find it easiest to hire a car to get around.
The cottage has off-road driveway parking. There is a picnic bench on the patio. The cottage has full central heating and a wood burning range in the lounge. To help make thing as smooth and easy as possible, here are a few “frequently asked questions” and answers. Of course, if there is something we haven’t covered please do get in touch.
How long should we spend at the Cottage to see the area?
The commonest feedback we receive from guests is that they wish they had stayed longer. We’d say three days is a good balance between the desire to see all of Ireland and the desire to see all that the area has to offer. Our minimum stay is two nights; of course you can stay longer (we have guests who have stated for a month and still felt they needed a bit longer to see everything!).
Can we get to the Cottage by public transport (or walking)?
You can… but it would be quite a challenge. The nearest bus stop is at the bottom of the hill and it is a fair walk to the Cottage. You’d then find it a bit tiresome (and tiring) trying to get around without a car.
Cycling is a good option. We have had guests who have stayed at the Cottage on their cycle tour around Ireland. There is a secure shed for bikes to be stored in overnight.
When do I get travel directions?
Around 3 weeks before your stay we will send you an email with all the details you need to know; directions, things to do and see etc. along with links to useful local information. If you need this earlier (maybe because you are on a grand tour) then please just let us know.
What are the arrangements for check-in?
We aim to meet all our guests when they arrive, so that we can show them around makes sure they understand how everything works and know about the local area and places to eat etc.
Because peoples travel plans can change, we ask you to give us an indication of your arrival time and then give us a phone call on the day when you are 30 mins away. We live around 10 minutes from the Cottage, so that allows us time to get ourselves organised to meet you.
If you are arriving really late then that’s fine too, we will leave the Cottage open for you and we will come by the next day to say “hello” and make sure you are settled.
There will be a small Welcome Pack waiting for you, with tea, coffee; enough to keep you going before you get to the shops.
What happens on our day of departure?
The night before you leave we ask you to let us know a convenient time for your check-out. That’s when we will come up to the Cottage, the say “goodbye” and check everything was ok.
We do charge for the oil and electricity of a usage basis. Based on typical usage, the cost per night is around €3.50 in the Spring/Summer and around €7.00 in the Autumn/Winter. You can pay ******** when you check out or, if easier, via ********.
After you leave we send all our guests a short survey questionnaire, to get their feedback and let us know what we could have done to make their stay even better. Of course, we also encourage you to use the review feature on ******** too.
