The secluded Praia João de Arens is a secluded gay beach that is located in Portugal's gorgeous Algarve region. Thanks to the area's regular warm weather, sun, and blue skies, this beach is often frequented by LGBTQ+ beachgoers throughout the year. Praia João de Arens is located on the coast in between the towns of Portimão and Alvor. As the beach is surrounded by towering cliffs, it can be quite the challenge accessing it, and the designated path can sometimes be tricky, so be sure to have appropriate shoes.
Praia João de Arens is arguably the most gay beach in the region, and as it's also clothing optional, you'll likely encounter other gay people enjoying the sun, sand, and water au natural. If the tide is low, you can also explore the other beaches along the coast and make a full day of it. Praia João de Arens is 6 kilometers from Portimão, and while it is difficult to park specifically at this beach, there are other areas along the stretch - you may just have to walk a little.
We would like to thank misterb&b member, Ricardo, for sharing this great gay beach suggestion with us.
