Zandmotor Beach is a man-made beach located in the province of South Holland, in the Netherlands. It is located near the city of The Hague, about 15 kilometers west of the city center. The beach was created in 2012 as a pilot project to test the use of sand from the bottom of the North Sea to create new land and protect the Netherlands from the sea. The beach is about 3 kilometers long and 300 meters wide, and is made up of sand brought up from the North Sea and shaped into a series of dunes and sandbars.
Generally, the sand dunes behind provide a space for gay cruising, and you will sometimes see other gay men frequenting the area for some fun. The beach is also nude friendly, and you'll find this section to the right of the beach. While this is not specifically a gay beach, the Netherlands' open attitude to LGBTQ+ people means you'll feel safe and welcome here without any problems.
Zandmotor is a popular destination for LGBTQ+ locals and tourists alike, and is a great place to relax, swim, and enjoy the sunshine. It is also home to a number of amenities, including restrooms, showers, and a beach pavilion where visitors can get food and drinks.
The gay-friendly beach is also home to a number of nature reserves, which provide habitat for a variety of plant and animal species. The Zandmotor Beach is a unique and fascinating place to visit, and is a great example of the innovative approaches that the Netherlands is taking to adapt to the challenges posed by rising sea levels.
We would like to thank misterb&b member, Erik, for sharing this great gay beach suggestion with us.
