The lake of Vassivière on the commune of Royère de Vassivière is located in the heart of Limousin. In the north of the regional natural park of Millevaches it is one of the most touristic sites of the Limousin and the biggest lake of the region. Since 2011 it is an official naturist area but not supervised (swimming prohibited) on the peninsula of Chassagnas.
It is possible to walk or drive there. From Royère de Vassivière follow the D3A2 until you find the first track on the left (at the level of the transformer) and look for the small signs indicating the naturist area. Just before this trail, a small path allows you to access it directly by car. Otherwise follow the path and park in the first alley on the left. It is a 15-20 minute walk to the beach. The gays tend to congregate more on the left. You can also park at Masgrangeas and walk about 1.5 km to the nudist area.
