Point Impossible is a beach located in the suburb of Torquay, near Melbourne, Australia. It is known for its wide, sandy beach and waves that are popular with surfers. The beach is located along the Great Ocean Road, a scenic coastal drive that runs along the southeastern coast of Australia. If you like sunbathing in the nude, you'll be pleased to know that Point Impossible is clothing-optional. In fact, under the Nudity Act of 1983, it is designated as a legal nudist beach.
The area is also home to a number of local attractions, including the Bells Beach Surf Life Saving Club and the Point Impossible Coastal Reserve. The gay-friendly beach is a popular destination for swimming, surfing, sunbathing, and picnicking.
The eastern end of the beach is arguably the gayest part of Point Impossible should you wish to meet fellow LGBTQ+ beachgoers. As Point Impossible is a little out of Melbourne, we suggest packing a picnic and making an entire day trip out of it. Acess is best by car, and it takes roughly 90 minutes from the Melbourne CBD.
