About Taiwan LGBT Pride
The first Taiwan LGBTQ Pride was held in 2003. Since then, Taiwan Gay Pride has had one mission: to organize a Pride Parade for Taiwan's LGBTQ community every year and give voice to their rights.
Every last Saturday in October, Taipei hosts the biggest gay pride parade of Asia, welcoming an estimated 80,000 people each year. Many Asian countries are not as gay-friendly as Taiwan. As such, the Taiwan Gay Pride Parade attracts thousands and thousands of gays from neighboring countries like China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia, just to name a few. This creates a truly international experience, and gives gays from all around the world the opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals.
