In june, four rainbow-colored crosswalks will emerge at 18th and Castro intersection. These initiative is a part of a large streetscape improvement and comes from the Castro/Upper Market Community Benefits District which ensures economic vitality and neighborhood beautification.
The $4,5 million project will include others streetscape improvement for the area such as wider sidewalks, new street lights and trees.
Voted by 4,500 people, the rainbow crosswalk was chosen from four options.
Already seen in Sydney, West Hollywood, Tel Aviv and Vancouver, these gay colors crosswalks should be finished by June for the time of San Francisco Pride. Let's guess they will also be featured in season 2 of Looking.
