The Agbar Tower in Barcelona to become a luxury hotel

Soon a new address for gay travelers who travel to Barcelona: Torre Agbar, one of the most emblematic buildings of the Catalan capital has just been purchased and will be turned into a luxury hotel.

The information was confirmed by Barcelona’s Mayor on Saturday: the Hyatt hotel group will carry out an extensive renovation of the building and install by the end of 2014 a luxury property under its label Grand Hyatt but also an entertainment center and many restaurants.

Currently serving as offices building and half empty, the tower is often called the "suppository" or "dildo". Designed by French architect Jean Nouvel, it was inaugurated in 2005.
