Finally ! After years of waiting, fans will finally be able to rush to Stockholm to visit Abba The Museum, the first museum dedicated to the legendary band formed by Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson and Anni-Frid Lyngstad in the 70s.
On the island of Djurgården, not far from Skansen park, Abba The Museum is the newest jewel of the Swedish capital. It tells the story of one of the biggest groups of pop music history, with 370 million records sold (albums and singles) and an impressive list of hits.
What you will see : extravagant stage costumes, musical instruments, gold records, documents and memorablia. But the museum is not limited to these items, you will be able to experience the feeling of being the 5th ABBA member !
You will audition your favorite song in the world famous Polar Studios, where all the greatest hits of the group were recorded. You will check out how you would look in their amazing stage costumes. You will appear in the band’s new music video. And above all, thanks to a hologram system, you will join them on stage !
What you will also see : a piano directly connected to one of Benny’s own pianos, that will be playing when Benny will play. And a very special phone that could ring at any time : only 4 people have its number. Guess who??
The entrance also grants access to the Swedish Music Hall of Fame (with artists such as Roxette, Swedish House Mafia or Robyn) and the Swedish History of Popular Music.
Don’t miss the website : abbathemuseum.com. Before your visit, you will find here an online karaoke of Abba’s greatest hit. After your visit, this is where you will find the photos, videos and various recordings that you made during your attempt to become Abba’s fifth member!
Abba The Museum is open daily from 10am to 8pm, from May 7, 2013
