It's a small safe neighbourhood were mostly local people live. Very friendly and warm neighbors and typical mexican life is all around.
Piblic transportation to and from Playa del Carmen, Tulum and Cancun. Walking distance from Puerto Aventuras. Travel time to Playa del Carmen is between 10 to 15 minutes and costs MXN25, Tulum is about 20 minutes away by bus. It takes about one hour to get to Cancun.
the home is located in Puerto Maya, Puerto Aventuras, a friendly Mexican community in the heart of the Mayan Riviera. Playa del Carmen is a 20 minute drive, Tulum a 30 minute drive. If you look for an affordable place close to all the local attractions and are interested in experiencing a real Mexico neighborhood rather than a gated tourist community you will love this place.
The closest beach is just 5 minutes ( driving distance, either Puerto Aventuras or Xpu-Há ) , and a supermarket, pharmacy are at walking distance ( 2 blocks ). Local transportation is available but car rental is definitely recommended and will make it much easier for you to get around. Puerto Maya is also close to the beautiful marina area of Puerto Aventuras where you can enjoy bars, restaurants, shops, Dolphin Discovery, fishing charters and much more. ( 5 minutes driving - 20 minutes walking, across the highway ).
