I love the adventure of traveling and meeting new and interesting people. Originally from the Deep South (Georgia) but I’ve lived in the San Francisco Bay Area now for more than 25 years. As the joke goes, “always a bride’s maid, never the bride”, and to that end, I’m single but not inexperienced in the complexities and beautiful-ness of relationships. At 56 years of age, African-American and averagely world travelled, I have a lot of life experience to share. And, I’m attempting to do that by writing my first-ever book which will be a memoir, of what seems to me now as a whole other life I had, about my former career working in the television news industry. Currently, however, I’m working in the hospitality industry of San Francisco as a hotel Concierge. I’ve worked in local tourism now for 18 years mostly as a Concierge. My last traveling adventure was about three years ago to Oslo, Norway to see friends and pay a first-time visit to Scandinavia. I loved it and would go back in a heartbeat. As an aside, I liked it so much that I came back to San Francisco and named my kitchen (for the second time) the “Norwegian Soul Food Kitchen”. I use this new name interchangeably with the original name for my kitchen which is “Cups West” named after a moment in time at Oprah’s old restaurant she once owned in Chicago. But, I digress.
I really enjoyed my time spent in Oslo which was made even more special because of my friends there. I still have Copenhagen and Stockholm to go. In the meantime, I’ll stay put in California and work my way up to the next adventure that’s, hopefully, just around the bend.
