Every new experience is an opportunity to grow and learn. After a long career in finance working in manufacturing, defence and education, I now manage a hotel in a small seaside village in NSW. I love this role, not just because it’s easy but for the people I am fortunate to meet. Meeting people in their everyday just highlights how we are more alike than we think.
I love travel because it takes you out of your routine and comfort zone. Regardless of the hours of planning that have gone into bringing the trip to fruition you still have to be flexible and that’s the challenge.
The best travel stories are when things have not gone to plan.
I enjoy camping – unkind people call it glamping – in my caravan, bushwalking, swimming, a quiet beer at home or a noisier one at the pub, love Hollywood classic movies, having a good meal with fine wine and great company.
I have 2 cocker spaniels called Fred & Barney. They’re brothers and like brothers they are totally different but so funny.
I’m currently trying to learn German but my Australian accent isn’t making that easy.
