Villa Joy is conveniently located, "below the D400", just a fifteen minute downhill stroll to Kalkan town centre with its charming harbour and multitude of restaurants. Walk the opposite direction (15min stroll) down to the Kalamar Bay beach club. Location is superb - walk down and get a taxi back up.
With four spacious bedrooms, sleeping up to eight people, the villa is complimented by a larger than average private swimming pool, pool jacuzzi and large terrace area with barbecue facilities.
The villa has a light airy feel throughout, newly refurbished this winter, with far reaching views across Kalamar Bay from the sitting room, while the large patio doors of the adjoining Kitchen/Dining room lead out onto the pool terrace and patio, tailor made for enjoying alfresco breakfasts, long lazy lunches, or evening barbecues. The kitchen comes fully equipped with all mod-cons, although, as it is a genuine two minute walk to at least three highly recommended restaurants and a good supermarket, this room may not be needed.
The four large bedrooms are cleverly separated between the floors, allowing two families to share without encroaching on each other.
The lower ground floor houses two bedrooms, a spacious twin and beautifully appointed master bedroom, both of which have large patio windows opening onto a charmingly private patio garden. The patio outside leads to the games area with table tennis and darts board, shaded by a canopy if the sun is too much. The master bedroom enjoys an en-suite wet room while, across the hall from the twin bedroom, there is also a separate large wet-room.
The remaining two bedrooms, situated at the top of the house on the first floor, both with feature ceilings, comprise of a large double, with en-suite shower room and a wraparound balcony, and a another twin bedroom with its own wet-room. These rooms both have stunning views.
The pool terrace is beautifully planted with olive trees, bougainvillea, lemon trees and other beautiful plants. The terrace is spacious and allows movement of your sunbed to ensure you get sunshine all day long. Outside there is a parking garage for your hire car should you need one.
All rooms are being newly refurbished in ******** with new air conditioning units, beautiful and comfortable soft furnishings in neutral colours, with splashes of colour being generated by traditional kilims, Turkish lamp shades and art work, providing you with a relaxing, friendly, home-from-home feel.
You have access to the whole house with garden and outdoor spaces alone, including swimming pool.
KALKAN
As a retreat from the rigours of modern life, Kalkan is little short of idyllic! Nestled round a sheltered natural harbour at the foot of the majestic Taurus Mountains, this unspoilt historic town overlooks a bay of breathtaking beauty.
A thriving Greek fishing village called Kalamaki until the 1920s; Kalkan is now largely devoted to high-end tourism.
Look out for Kalkan's charms in the compact old town including the picturesque harbour, shops, and various eateries including cafés, bars and high-end restaurants.
The town is well served by banks and supermarkets. There is a large Thursday market in town and a smaller local market in the neighbouring village of Akbel on a Sunday.
The harbour area caters for all including a small pebbly beach, beach clubs (many of which can be reached by a frequent boat shuttle service) and not forgetting the very popular past-time of a day at sea on one of the many daily boat trips.
You can access the town on foot or via the very reliable local taxi service. Details of the taxi service are available in the property.
If you wish to venture further, the taxi service can take you to many of the popular tourist attractions. However, should you wish to hire a car, the This Is Kalkan team can make all the necessary arrangements on your behalf.
