I am trying to become fluent in Spanish. I started this journey in 2016 and spent 6 weeks in Lima Peru taking classes 6-8 hours per day. I made many new friends at the gym that I went to every morning. I spent a lot of time with them outside of class learning their culture and practicing Spanish. I returned in 2018 for a month. Since that time I have continued to study Spanish and speak with every Latino looking man I see. Everyone is always so nice when they see I am making an effort to connect with them. In October of 2021 I went and spent a week in Quito, Ecuador with my online professor. I had taken about 140 hours of lessons from him and we always have a great time. We also had an incredible time in person touring Quito, sharing meals, and having some impromptu lessons. I helped him with his English and he helped me with my Spanish. In June 2022 I spent two weeks in Santiago de Chile and two weeks in Buenos Aires studying Spanish. I had some amazing hosts during my time there and We remain in contact. I love meeting new people.
