I have a servant's heart and have been welcoming guests since I was 10 years old. My mother had no idea that I cleaned my brothers' gross bathroom and staged it with fresh linens and bath products for her friend who was visiting. One taste of the joy created by simply caring and I was hooked! These days I'm a professional host and I've spent years learning how to provide exceptional stays.
I love to travel!! Got my first passport stamp before I turned 2. In more recent history, I volunteered at a wildlife/elephant sanctuary for 2 weeks, spent 6 months living in Bangkok, 2 months exploring Australia/NZ, a few days on a boat in Borneo visiting wild orangutans, and 6 weeks roaming around Spain/Portugal/France to see if I fell in love with a specific town in that region. Meeting new people, experiencing new cultures/food/wildlife, and challenging my American world view give me LIFE.
I'm currently working towards a semi-nomadic retirement. I want to feel at home in areas I adore spending months at a time. I get to know my neighbors and value being a part of the community. I choose communities where my family and guests will feel safe and welcome. My St. Augustine home was previously owned by a gay couple and my NC neighbors literally had "Hate has no home here" signs when I visited the first time.
I'm currently bouncing between St. Augustine, FL and Asheville, NC until I discover my next community to love. I look forward to hosting you at one of my homes and helping you discover all the things to love about the area!
