This newly built, contemporary beach cottage reflects original West Coast architecture with cement floors and simple white washed walls. There are many spaces in which to read, contemplate life, suntan, enjoy deep fireside chats and bird watch from the patio. The "almost" exclusive-use beach is a gentle meander down the gravel road. Here you will find excellent swimming conditions in warm, azure lagoon waters, and endless walks through pristine nature reserve. The shallow water and white sandy beaches are fabulous for the whole family to enjoy. The accommodation is luxuriously simple with all the amenities you will need for a first class beach break.
Surrounded by pristine views, and set neatly above the soft white sandy beaches of the turquoise lagoon. This house offers comfortable accommodation for 8 people. Three Mediterranean styled double bedrooms, and 4 bunk beds. A fully equipped kitchen and open plan dining and lounge area all leading to an expansive verandah with outdoor dining table, plenty seating and lounging options, barbecue and outdoor shower. The perfect spot for a sundowner and magical star gazing. Wood for the fireplaces is supplied. A Back courtyard with outdoor wash up sink and wood storage offers a tranquil alternative space to hang out and enjoy the diverse fynbos and birdlife.

Churchhaven is a beautiful little fishing village. Small, but with enviable examples of restored white-washed fishermen's houses, with more recent and modern renditions having adopted a similar style. The little fishing village of Churchhaven lies in an enviable position. Postberg Nature Reserve (which only opens during August and September) is one of the best places in the country to catch a glimpse of Namaqualand spring flowers.
Kraalbaai, just south of Postberg, is a unique protected Bay, where those wanting to escape the "crowds" of Langebaan flee on ski boats and yachts. The famous Kraal Bay Houseboats are dotted around the bay adding to the picturesque beauty of the bay.
The wilder ocean-front beach is a short drive from the house, lovely for sunset and long beach walks.
The town of Langebaan is a 30 minute drive and a good place to get supplies or visit a restaurant.

Kraal Baai or Kraalbaai, is part of the greater Langebaan Lagoon. This corner remains stark and beautiful and is home to sea birds and ostriches. But it can be very popular during peak season and over weekends, particularly as one is allowed to braai, picnic and fish here. But come here during the week, or at dusk, and you are more likely to find it desolate and beautiful. Look oChurchhaven can be found up the R27, roughly an hour's drive from Cape Town. The West Coast National Park lies about half way between Yzerfontein and Langebaan. ut for the landmark rock known as the Preekstoel.
Bring your walking shoes and a mountain bike to enjoy the endless nature pathways. Own transport is needed.
It is crucial to bring your own drinking water. We recommend 2L per person per day.
The house is off the grid, so no hairdryers, ice machines or appliances that draw electricity are allowed. Energy is solar and battery powered, which is sufficient for charging cell phones and laptops.
There are no shops in the area, so you need to bring everything with you. We provide firewood, beach essentials and bath towels. The closest shop is in Langebaan which is a 30-40 minute drive.
