Welcome to this meticulously re-done, second and third floor 4 BR apartment in downtown Montclair, 3 minutes to a direct NYC train (NJ Transit's Walnut Street Station). Fully equipped kitchen with comfy Queen-sized beds in each bedroom, living area with TV (Hulu and Netflix). Washer & Dryer in basement (unfinished space). Quiet and friendly street close to local brewery (just down the street!), parks, shopping areas, cafes, restaurants, art museum. Perfect for families or business travelers. Off street parking. Our renovated 4-bedroom duplex apartment is located in the heart Montclair, spanning the second and third floor of a 2-family house (the first floor is a separate apartment). Located literally 3 minutes away from NJ Transit direct into Manhattan (Penn Station) via the Walnut St station--be in Manhattan in 30-40 minutes! Private entrance to the second floor. One off street parking spot included. Situated next to a quiet stream--your own little slice of heaven!
The apartment is a 5 minute walk from Bloomfield Avenue/downtown Montclair, with a huge variety of shops, cafes, trendy restaurants and amenities. Completely renovated down to the studs, with new kitchen and furnishings. Walnut St, which is around the corner, features a brand new brewery, cafes, and shops.
A few notes on the space:
- The living area is small. It's not a huge space for congregating or entertaining, but there are several individual bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. We are also walking distance to most amenities one would want.
- This is an older home, and the stairs are steep to both the 2nd floor and 3rd floor. There's also a fairly steep, unfinished staircase to the unfinished basement to access the laundry.
This apartment is ideal for families or business rentals. Easy access to Montclair State University.

In the summer, we install window ACs in each bedroom. We do not have central air. The heating system is steam through cast iron radiators.
The unfinished basement features washer and dryer, shared with the first floor apartment.
Montclair is a trendy suburb of New York City featuring a huge array of trendy eateries, shops, theaters, and more. It has been voted numerous times as one of the most desirable areas to live in New Jersey. Above all, we are steps away from a direct train line into Manhattan Penn Station.
The Walnut St station is a 3 minute walk from the house--this takes you directly into Manhattan in about 35-40 minutes (7 stops). We are also extremely close (5-10 minute walk) to dozens of restaurants, shops, cafes, grocery stores, a theater, a new brewery literally down the street, and much more.
If you're traveling with a large group, note that this home feature two separate apartments (each rented out on a short-term basis). Let us know if you'd be interested in both apartments to accommodate your group. We'd be happy to facilitate if our calendar permits!
PARKING: Please arrange parking with us in advance, and only use off-street parking. You may be ticketed for street parking. We have one spot available for guests in the front of the home. We cannot accommodate more than 1 vehicle, and we do not have guest passes available for street parking (please do not book if you are planning on bringing more than 1 car, or contact us in advance to arrange parking).
Please note that, while renovated, this is still an older home (built over 100 years ago). As such, you may notice some imperfections. We like to think of them as added character! :)
